Behold the crazed masterminds behind @__ologist . Ologist is comprised of Long Beach and LA chief underground rockers Droozie, Alec, Alan, and Niko, who keep pretty busy with the band and sister acts like Chorus Pedal, Pop Hysteria, the Sleeperz, etc. Their music melds the ferocity of noise rock, post punk and a few -cores (post hardcore, sasscore, mathcore, so on), drawing from bands like Melt Banana, the Locust, Jesus Lizard, Orchid, Botch, Pre, etc.
Ologist is driven by a taste for crazed intensity and confronting discomfort, making songs as fierce and fast as possible with lyrics recognizing the mutant aspects of modern-day living. Their live sets are just as extreme too, with Droozie sprawling all over the place being as loud and agile as can be, backed by a band that’s just as unstoppable.
The crew has played countless shows in the past couple of years, debuting with their album “Practitioner” off Tenant Recordings from summer 2024. They’re in the midst of a south / midwest / west coast tour and have some new tunes right around the corner.
